Aluminium is light, so it takes a decent load to add up, but it is also one of the easiest metals to sort. Clean extrusion like window frames and shopfront sections pays the most. Cast parts, painted sheet and aluminium with steel or rubber attached pay less.
We separate your load into its grades with you and weigh each one on certified scales. Glaziers, builders, boat owners and households bring us everything from a few frames to trailer loads of offcuts.
A magnet will not stick to aluminium. If it is light and non-magnetic, it is probably aluminium.
Window and door frames, shopfront sections and profiles. Glass removed; clean frames pay the most.
Sheet, guttering, ladders, outdoor furniture, boat fittings and general household aluminium.
Engine parts, gearbox housings, pump bodies and other cast components, free of steel and oil.

Glass has to come out of window and door frames. Wear gloves and eye protection.
Pull out rubber seals, steel screws and brackets where you can. Clean extrusion pays the most.
Cast parts are graded differently from extrusion and sheet, so bag or stack them separately.
Cast engine and gearbox parts should be drained and as clean as practical.
Separate it from steel, rubbish and other metals where it is safe to do so.

It depends on the type. Clean extrusion such as window frames pays more than cast aluminium or sheet with paint and attachments. Our aluminium price guide shows this week's indicative ranges, and the exact rate is confirmed at the yard.
Yes, glass must be removed. Rubber seals, screws and steel brackets lower the grade, so remove what you safely can. Frames with some rubber left in are still accepted.
Aluminium is light and a magnet will not stick to it. Steel is heavier and magnetic. Stainless steel can be non-magnetic, but it is much heavier than aluminium.
Yes. Keep them free of rubbish and liquid. Cans are light, so they are best brought in with other aluminium.
