A strip-out skip full of mixed metal is graded at the rate of its lowest-value metal. Pull the copper pipe, cable, brass tapware and aluminium window frames out on site and each one is paid at its own, much higher, rate. The steel goes in on its own.
Asbestos, lagged pipe and anything containing it cannot be accepted, and must be handled by a licensed asbestos contractor. Everything else from a strip-out is worth a look.
The valuable metals are often hidden in the steel. Sort them out first.
Window and door frames with glass, rubber and screws removed where possible.
