Insulated wire and cable is priced on its copper recovery, the share of its weight that is copper. Sorting your Port Adelaide load by grade before you come in usually gets you a better overall price.
Yes. We buy insulated copper cable, building wire, extension leads and stripped copper wire. Stripping thick cable turns it into bare bright or #1 copper, which is worth more per kg, but thin wire is rarely worth the time, so bring it in as insulated cable. Sell it for its copper. Split and ducted air conditioners contain copper pipe, copper-aluminium coils and a compressor, and we buy them at our Green Fields yard. The refrigerant gas must be recovered by a licensed technician before the unit is disconnected or brought in, so never cut the refrigerant lines yourself.
Current photo ID, such as a driver's licence. Sort copper, brass, aluminium, cable and batteries into separate bags or tubs if you can, and take off steel or plastic parts. Gas bottles, asbestos, chemicals, fuel and ammunition are not accepted.
