A few minutes of sorting before you load up usually lifts your payout.
Each metal is paid at its own rate, so mixed bags slow grading and can drop the whole lot to a lower grade.
If a magnet sticks, it is usually steel. Copper, brass, aluminium and most stainless will not hold one.
Screws, clamps, plastic and timber count as contamination. Strip what you can do safely and leave the rest to us.
Thin cable rarely pays for the time it takes to strip. We grade insulated cable on its copper recovery.
Separate it from steel, rubbish and other metals where it is safe to do so.
